Guests from Miami-Dade County Public Schools; the office of Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Early Learning Coalition; and Miami-Dade Public Library System talk about a new countywide initiative with the goal of reducing by half the number of third graders not reading at grade level by 2020. Abety-Gutierrez, talks about his recent appointment to President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics and the work of this Commission.
